Here’s the baked beans recipe:

For one pound dry beans, sort through and remove any rocks or bad beans, then soak, using overnight or quick soak. Discard soaking water. Bring soaked beans to a boil in fresh water until tender, 1-2 hours at a simmer. Taste beans to test for doneness, should be soft and not grainy.

Drain beans, reserving boiling water. Put beans in baking dish. Cover with slices of thick bacon or thinly sliced onions. Add 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1-2 oz. molasses, 1 tsp to 1 Tbs salt, and 1 Tbs dry ground ginger to the boiling water and heat until all is dissolved. Pour bean liquor over beans and bacon until all is covered, then bake at 350F for 4-5 hours, checking every hour and topping up the liquid when it evaporates.
