Roast Chicken

Get a nice plump one,
Wash it well in cold running water
And lay it breast up in a roasting pan.

Sprinkle salt, ginger, sage, pepper, garlic if you care
Over the top of the bird, and into the oven
At 350F for two hours.

That chicken will be done to the bone,
Fork tender, moist, and fully cooked.
Bring it to the table, carve and eat.
